In this edition of Stage Camp, your 4-7 year-olds will immerse themselves in imaginative play that bridges the worlds of technology and theatre. Each day, they’ll become young inventors and storytellers, drawing on basic drama techniques to bring their innovative ideas to life on stage. Through creative role-playing and interactive scenarios, your young actors will discover how engineering principles and scientific concepts can be applied in fun, dynamic ways!
Week 1: Digital Dynamos
Step into a futuristic world filled with astonishing inventions and incredible digital tools! Let your imagination run wild as you discover how to build new gadgets to solve problems and tackle exciting challenges. By bringing all these extraordinary ideas together, we’ll see just how technology can help us in the most amazing ways!
Week 2: Medical Marvels
Dive into the wonders of medicine and become a medicinal marvel, crafting magical concoctions that cure, transform, and amaze! Let your imagination run wild as you create exciting new recipes with unbelievable outcomes. Join us for a thrilling adventure where every remedy holds the power to unlock a world of possibilities!
Week 3: Expert Engineers
Set off on an exciting adventure in which you will tackle fun engineering challenges and create amazing inventions that bring your stories to life! Spark your imagination by designing playful machines to help characters explore exciting places and solve whimsical problems. Join us for a wonder-filled journey where creativity and adventure go hand in hand! \
Stage Camp by SRT Centre for Creative Learning is a devising-based programme that takes on a child-centred, process-first approach leading up to an informal stage showcase on the final day.
Together with an experienced teaching artist, your young actor(s) will explore the following skills and key competencies…
Communication & Collaboration: Express and share ideas while promoting active listening to others, fostering an environment of mutual respect.
Empathy & Emotional Intelligence: Encourage the recognition of various emotions and exploring ways to express them effectively.
Creative & Critical Thinking: Encourage decision making and the use of creativity to solve problems.
