Singapore Repertory Theatre, La Boite Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company present Congratulations, Get Rich! (恭喜发财, 人日快乐) by Merlynn Tong.

This is not your average ghost story. Congratulations, Get Rich! is a wild, hilarious ride that celebrates the messy, joyful chaos of being alive.

It’s a big night for Mandy. Her beloved karaoke business is on the brink of collapse. In a desperate bid to save it, she’s throwing a reunion dinner special like no other.

But when two unexpected guests show up, everything changes. Mandy recognises one immediately – her mother, who passed away more than twenty years ago. Who is the other woman? What do they want? And why have they come back now?

Written and performed by Merlynn Tong, alongside Singapore’s Seong Hui Xuan and Queenslander Kimie Tsukakoshi, this explosive musical comedy bursts with the vibrant spirit of Singaporean life, centring on three fierce women in a supernatural tale full of heart and humour.

For the audience's enjoyment of the show, parents of children who are excessively noisy will be encouraged to bring them out of the venue until they are ready to come back in. We seek your kind understanding on this matter.
