This May, Singapore Repertory Theatre is excited to welcome our collaboration with Gecko! Founded in 2001, Gecko is an award winning, internationally acclaimed physical theatre company, led by their Artistic Director, Amit Lahav. Beyond the stage, Gecko aspires to open the doors on their process through every possible avenue, be it digitally, through workshops or forming one-to-one relationships with their audience. Gecko’s education and outreach is a key area of the company’s work, whose workshops are led by their highly experienced company members that are both well-versed as workshop practitioners and devising performers.
Step into the classroom with Gecko and be introduced to their unique style of physical theatre, in a highly energetic workshop that promises to get your students moving and challenged outside their comfort zones. Gecko's works are also regularly studied by students across the world undertaking iGCSE Drama and the International Baccalaureate in Theatre. This workshop is suitable for anyone aged between 14-18, no prior experience is needed.

In this professional development workshop, teachers will be able to let their hair down and get their thinking hats on while learning about Gecko’s physical theatre style. Teachers will also have the rare opportunity to gain insight into Gecko’s devising process and how they can be tailored to suit their student’s needs. No prior experience necessary.
Through this workshop, participants will be able to:
Receive feedback and advice from established international theatre practitioners
Adopt Gecko concepts that can be applied in and outside the classroom
