Located in a spacious Upper East Side apartment in New York, Amir has worked hard to achieve the American Dream. With South Asian Muslim roots, he has gone on to become a successful lawyer, has a beautiful American wife and even a wardrobe of $600 custom-tailored shirts.
But when Amir hosts a dinner party for his African American colleague and her Jewish husband, the initially pleasant evening erupts into a volatile argument over race, religion and class in the modern world.
Set in post 9/11 America, Disgraced, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Ayad Akhtar takes you on an “entertaining and thought-provoking” (USA Today) journey, exploring the clash between modernity and faith.

Following every performance of Disgraced, we will be hosting a facilitated post-show discussion.
Disgraced tackles sensitive themes of cultural identity, religion, and race. These topics can spark powerful emotions and insightful conversations. The post-show discussions will provide a safe space for audience members to share their perspectives and delve deeper into the play's themes.

Audio Described (AD): An Audio Described performance is for patrons who are Blind or Vision Impaired, who require the theatre performance to be described live by a trained Audio Describer. The performance is verbally described and transmitted to the audience members through their own mobile phone device with earphones.

Creative Captioned (CC): Creative Captioned (CC) performances are designed to cater to patrons who are Deaf / Hard of Hearing. In a CC performance, there will be text projected on or near the stage that transcribes all auditory elements of the show into written English (speech, music, sound cues, etc). Trained captioners will operate their captions live. Colour contrast, placement, and size of the caption text will be considered throughout the process. Advised by our patrons and Venue team, seating for audience members will be allocated to provide an optimal view of the captions during the performance, and the stage itself. |
Assisted listening facilities for people with hearing loss
For patrons that require assisted listening facilities, please bring along a fully charged handphone and (ideally wired) headphones. Our front-of-house will assist you with downloading our hearing enhancement software when you reach the theatre.

Ghafir is a Malaysian actor and director recently seen in The Passion and the Prose (SIFA 2024); HOTEL, An Inspector Calls (Wild Rice) and Three Years in the Life and Death of Land (TNS). He won Best Actor (2024 ST Life Theatre Award) for his role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (SRT-Shakespeare in the Park). Other credits include Kingdoms Apart (Esplanade); Lifespan of a Fact, Julius Caesar, Guards at the Taj (STC - Singapore Theatre Company, formerly Singapore Repertory Theatre); Merdeka (Wild Rice); Acting Mad, Civilised (TNS); Temple, Medea (Cake Theatrical); Gold Rain and Hailstones (Instant Café Theatre).
Directing credits include Fault Lines (Protagonist Studio; Best Director Cameronian Arts Awards 2023); The Language Archive (PH7 Productions); OlaBola The Musical (Enfiniti); Ombak! (Rhythm in Bronze); and Cinta Sang Arnab (Kakiseni Arts Festival).
Ghafir holds an MFA in Acting (Asolo Conservatory/FSU), and a BA in Theatre Performance (Western Michigan University).
Simone Policano (she/her) is an actor, writer, producer—and proud native New Yorker! She is a recurring guest star on CBS's Blue Bloods and has previously guest starred on NBC's New Amsterdam. Select theatre credits include: The Play That Goes Wrong (Off-Broadway), Father Kennedy (New York International Fringe Festival), cityscrape (Off-Off Broadway), Dry Land (Yale University). Film: Auggie, This is Our Home, Extra Innings (all streaming on Amazon Prime).
Simone also co-founded the COVID-19 nonprofit organization Invisible Hands, mobilizing over 10,000 volunteers in NYC to deliver groceries and essential supplies to the elderly and immunocompromised. Thanks to my family and friends who've journeyed across the globe to see this production!
Shrey works as an actor across theatre, film and television. He has a double BA in Theatre (Acting) and Cinema & Media Studies from the University of Southern California. He was named a Renaissance Scholar and awarded the Ruth & Albert McKinlay Award for Best Actor.
His theatre credits include The Prose and The Passion (2024), Crack the Case: Backstage Betrayal (2024), Crack the Case: Mindhunter (2023), No Particular Order (2023), The Singapore Trilogy (2021), The Cider House Rules: Parts 1 & 2 (2019), Dragonflies (2017), Equus (2016) and The Pillowman (2014).
His film & TV credits include Elevator (2024), Come Closer (2023), Titoudao: Dawn of a New Stage (2023), Third Rail (2022) and This Land is Mine (2021).
He was named the National Winner for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023 for his performance in TiTouDao.
Eboni Flowers is thrilled to be cast in this production at such a relevant time. Career highlights include Broadway performances in Macbeth (Longacre Theater) and Slave Play (Golden Theater/August Wilson Theater). Other credits include: Too Heavy For Your Pocket (Roundabout Theater), A Raisin in the Sun (Williamstown Theater Festival), Father Comes Home from the Wars, Parts 1-3 (Yale Repertory Theater/A.C.T), Dead Dog Park (Bedlam), Paradox of the Urban Cliche' (Poetic Theater Productions).
Beyond the stage, Eboni is also a versatile performer in film, television, commercials, and holds the distinction of being an AUDIE-award winning audiobook narrator.

Jeremy recently played Eliaz in BLOOD PLAY, by Rachel Mars, at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. He stars as Pastor Samuel Knight in the new feature film LOST NATION. Other favorite roles include Al Manners in TROUBLE IN MIND at the Dallas Theater Center, originating Seth in THE SABBATH GIRL off-Broadway, and co-writing & starring in the feature films JEWTAH and THE WEEKEND.
