The Search For Bruiser Woods (and Rufus!) Begins

Think your dog has star quality? Singapore Repertory Theatre is casting the four-legged stars of Legally Blonde – The Musical.

We’re looking for two scene-stealing pups to join Elle Woods and the Delta Nu sisters onstage at the Esplanade Theatre this July.

BRUISER WOODS | Elle Woods’ iconic sidekick

We’re looking for:

• A blonde, short-haired toy-sized dog (not limited to Chihuahuas)
• Comfortable being carried onstage
• Calm around performers, lights, music, and applause
• Happy sitting in a dog bag
• Bonus points if they can run on cue for treats and affection

Bruiser will appear throughout the show, including the curtain call, and even gets their own tiny pink graduation outfit.

RUFUS | Paulette’s lovable companion

We’re looking for:

• A larger dog with lots of personality
• Adorably scruffy, quirky, or unconventional charm
• Friendly, relaxed temperament
• Comfortable walking onstage on a lead and receiving attention from performers

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

All dogs should ideally:

• Be well-socialised and comfortable in busy environments
• Respond well to handlers and basic cues
• Enjoy attention (or at least tolerate theatre people)
• Be available for rehearsals and performances

No previous stage experience required — just confidence, charm, and a little bit of star power. Think your pup is ready for Broadway-level glamour? We’d love to meet them!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

The search for Bruiser & Rufus will be conducted at The Proud Pet Parade, held in conjunction with Pasar Pink by Pink Fest.
