Two political prisoners - one a left-wing revolutionary and the other deemed "morally deviant" by society are thrown into a cell. Interned, interrogated, tortured and psychologically manipulated - they are desolate souls trapped in the clutches of a brutal, unforgiving regime. Their only refuge - a world of imaginary movies, matinee idols and the mysterious, elusive Spider Woman.
